This is how it is, it’s raining outside and boy is it raining, not just a drop, but rain like drench your washing in minus two seconds type of rain, not even worth getting it in type rain. Clouds dark and grey, something sinister in them but also something subtly calm as well, lets you know there WILL be a storm on the way.
You hope there won’t be a storm because Eastenders is on tonight and someone’s going to be killed and you want to know who! It’s going to be the talk of the week, until next week’s murder!!!
Anyway back onto the subject…eh, oh yeh.
So while waiting for the afternoon to pass your children gather their Wellies begging you to go outside and play in the rain not understanding the simple fact that playing in the rain is not the smart thing to do but kids like to play in the rain, lets face it who didn't like puddles and mud pies, I remember being caught by my sister eating a mud pie once, funny story, you must hear it! (One day I’ll share the details). Even as we grow older if we aren’t miserable old farts we relate to rain as romantic, we dream of kisses in the rain, singing in the rain with an umbrella or finding lost kittens to care for but in the end I guess the kids go for their dreams and we just have to live vicariously through Eastenders!
That’s the storm on its way so board games out and nursery rhymes of an old man who died by bumping his head in bed, just makes you wonder what type of board games your going to be playing now don’t it.
Watch out for the rainbow, it’s the best part of the rain!
